Don specializes in helping for-profit and non-profit clients understand the changes in the industry and implement strategies to create effective, financially-successful facilities and operations.
Experience
As the president and founder of HMC, Don has been providing extensive financial, management, and human resource expertise to Mid-Atlantic area healthcare providers since 1993. He has been a licensed nursing home administrator for more than 30 years.
Background
During his more than 30 years serving the healthcare industry, Don has provided and directed health management and consulting services for a varied and diverse client-base in Maryland and Delaware. His prestigious administrative career with two national heathcare firms includes 10 years as Vice President of Operations for Meridian Health Services, Maryland's largest nursing home provider.
Professional Memberships
Don is a Fellow of the American College of healthcare Administrators (ACHCA) and a Paul Harris Fellow. He served as Chairman of the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators. He is a past President of the Health Facilities Association of Maryland (HFAM), and former Member of the Board of Directors of the American healthcare Association (AHCA).
He is also an Associate Member of the Health Facilities Association of Maryland (HFAM) and Mid-Atlantic Lifespan.
Community Service
Don serves on a variety of National, State and Local Health Committees, Task Forces including the Policy Steering Committee of Mid-Atlantic Lifespan.
Among his many civic and community commitments, Don is a past President of the Easton Rotary, Chairman of the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Board of Directors for the Easton YMCA, the United Fund, Elks Club, the University of Maryland Alumni Association, the Maryland State Chamber of Commerce, and the Easton Waterfowl Festival, and is a 32º Mason.
